What is the MANTLE of Prayer?

The mantle of prayer is a spiritual calling, responsibility, and authority given by God to intercede, stand in the gap, and partner with heaven for His will to be done on earth.

It is more than a personal prayer life—it is a divine assignment to carry the burden of intercession, to war in the Spirit, and to shift atmospheres through consistent, fervent, and faith-filled prayer.

Just as Elijah passed his prophetic mantle to Elisha (2 Kings 2:13–14), the mantle of prayer is often passed, recognized, or awakened by the Holy Spirit for a specific season, purpose, or generation. Those who carry this mantle are watchmen, gatekeepers, and midwives of revival—called to stand between heaven and earth until God’s plans are fulfilled.

“The mantle of prayer is not for the faint of heart—it’s for those who are willing to travail in the Spirit until heaven touches earth. It’s the weight of intercession, the call to stand in the gap, and the honor of moving God’s hand through faith.”
— Archbishop Devin Owens Sr.

Characteristics of the Mantle of Prayer:

  • Burden-Bearing – A divine sensitivity to the heart of God and the needs of others (Romans 8:26–27).

  • Watchfulness – Remaining spiritually alert, guarding people, places, and regions in prayer (Isaiah 62:6).

  • Persistence – An unwavering commitment to intercede until breakthrough comes (Luke 18:1–8).

  • Authority – The ability to shift spiritual atmospheres through prayer and declarations (James 5:16).

  • Availability – A surrendered vessel willing to be used at any hour, even in secret (Ezekiel 22:30).

Pray with Archbishop exists to respond to the call of prayer—a divine summons that awakens spiritual watchmen, midwives, and warriors to stand in the gap. We are committed to creating sacred spaces for supernatural communication, where lives are changed, burdens are lifted, and heaven responds to earth’s cry. Through prophetic intercession and strategic activation, we labor in prayer until God’s will is made manifest.
